Pastels for Landscapes or Flowers- Full Day Workshop

Tutor Catherine Stott
This is a course based at the Artist's studio which introduces and practices skills which will help you paint successful flower or landscape paintings in pastel. We will look at tonal values, composition and colour mixing in pastel. Try out these skills on a favourite view or subject you have brought, or use the subjects provided. This is a small group workshop suitable for beginners or the more experienced, and individual advice is given on use of materials and pastel painting skills.

Materials Sketching materials including charcoal, sketchbook,
and pastel painting materials.
Also recommended- protective clothing for painting. Contact the artist for more advice on what to bring

Tutor Biography
Catherine Stott is a painter/printmaker and tutor on garden and landscape subjects. Artist in residence at Hexham Abbey 2005 and at Morpeth Gathering 2007/8, she holds the R.H.S. Certificate in Horticulture, and has taught with poets and storytellers

Bampton is 12 miles from M5 junction 27 and from main line train services at Tiverton Parkway, with direct trains to many locations. (e.g. London Paddington- 2hours, Birmingham New Street 2.25 hours)
